Migration

The General Skilled Migration programme offers permanent or temporary visas that are either independent, sponsored by a state or territory, or sponsored by a family. It is available to skilled individuals or families who wish to permanently relocate to Australia in order to fill skill shortages in the Australian workforce. The Skilled Occupation list establishes which occupations are eligible for permanent residency under the General Skilled Migration programme.

Australian visa streams for residency might be gained through: 
 
  • The work stream
  • The family stream
  • The study stream, or 
  • As an investor or via a business stream
 

Steps to apply for Australian migration

Step 1:

Check your eligibility score a minimum of 65 points and verify your nominated occupation is in demand.

Step 2:

English language provide evidence of an accepted English language test and required score by taking either IELTS/PTE/TOEFL/OET, etc.

Step 3:

Skills assessment get your skill, education and work experience assessed by the relevant skills assessment authority in accordance with Australian standards.

Step 4:

Sponsorship (if required) get nominated by State/Regional Government or sponsored by eligible relative in Australia.

Step 5:

EOI (Expression of Interest) submit EOI on Australia’s Skill Select website by providing responses based on your skill and opted visa category and await positive Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Step 6:

Receive invitation to apply and submit visa application submit visa application with supporting documents within 60 days on receipt of positive invitation to apply.

Step 7:

Submit health and character clearance certificate complete and submit health and character clearance as advised by the case officer.
